the love is in place...

a most favorite gift
beaten and recycled...

silver plate and brass leaf created
from a reclaimed jardiniere by Barry Smith
his generosity also included this most extraordinary
little copper bowl...

Barry is an Australian sculptural artist and metal worker.
These two phenomenal pieces were created by beating
recycled metal from discarded objects.

Each time I admire Barry's work,
the texture, details and designs take my breath away...

" I like textured and 3D artwork; artwork that has layers and embeds history and messages in and on the material; artwork that takes used, forgotten and discarded materials and objects and gives them new life, new forms, new meanings. My art encourages the viewer to not only be uplifted by an appealing or quirky form; but also to look for messages and personal meanings in the art." - Barry Smith

"Much of my work reflects themes of peace, meditation, nature
and our journey through our life and environment.
Where possible I use found objects and salvaged
or recycled materials in my work." - Barry Smith

L - Thanks for sharing my work with others - I am honoured that you took the time to do that. I look forward to following a few new rust lovers who have identified themselves as a result of the post. F and I have established a tumblr blog called rustlust but have not had the time to add much to it just yet. I also love the photos of the bowl and leaf on the stone - looks great - may they continue to bring positive energy into your space. B
