windswept and tattered

torn and tattered, vintage and recycled, bits of nature,
new made to appear old...elements brought together to create
this wildly layered heart mounted on
a well worn vintage cabinet card.

textiles and vintage haberdashery...menswear fabric,
silk ribbon, hand dyed laces, recycled tea bags,
silk fragments from a Victorian blouse,
tulle, hand sewn glass beads.

curly grapevine and a piece of slate from my roof...
vintage key with fresh water pearls and hematite

rusty found metal and salvaged clock remnants.
now available on Etsy.

This really is something. The randomness and wear and with composition that pulls it all together.
Fascinating!

Hello Lisa! What a lovely comment you left on my blog! You know, you have really inspired me to explore the rusty metal things and fabric off cuts that make up your work, so I have you to thank for making my exploration on the primitive side a fun one!
I just love how your Etsy shop is filling up with all this gorgeous eye-candy too. You have a lot of clever ideas and your art is so detailed and beautifuly crafted...I droll every time I visit.
One day, I am going to BUY one of those eye-candy pieces (just as soon as Andy gets a blinken job!)

A crazy heart (but very sturdy looking - it will be still crazy in a long time...)... wonderful

Lisa the many textures come together well and for me are an analogy of life - soft, hard, dented, battered and restructured - our hearts deal with much, our lives experience a roller coaster of emotions. Terrific.

You have the best junk!!
I love to create art with what I may find or collect.

I would be enamored with your nest of rusty, worn, salvage treasured pieces from your pile or inspiring pieces.
