Anyone who has ever purchased an item from my shop
knows that presentation is an important part of the sale for me.
The manner in which you present your art
reflects how you feel about that piece.
It's also a nice way to show your appreciation
to your customer!
I like to send off my fabric cuffs in one of these little pouches.
It only takes a few minutes to put together and
makes the presentation so much more complete!
I start with a piece of unbleached parchment paper doubled over
with a strip of fabric sandwiched in between to stabilize the stitching
for my cover design. Once I've finished sewing down my logo and design
I line the inside of the envelope with bumwad (tracing paper)
and sew around the edges. I like to do this to prevent the
stitches from catching on the cuff.
Sew a strip of fabric along the edge...
fold in half and stitch the side and bottom together.
Punch a couple of holes through the fabric, add some ribbon
and you've got a neat little pouch!

Perfection!
How beautiful! The packaging would be like having an extra gift.
My packaging for Maud & Mabel is just brown paper packages tied up with string, but that goes with the look of the shop.
You work so hard, you're making feel like a slacker, Lisa!
L - as a purchaser I can attest to your commitment to presentation - and it matters - makes the parecel special. Great package. B
I agree, what a wonderfull little extra you give your customers.
I would be very happy to get my parcel in the post like this.
I so agree Lisa, presentation is SO important. The look you've created is so you and most definitely represents the care you put into your sale.
That's a really nice presentation, and yes I noticed how artfully you packaged my purchase.
Maybe you could go into business making packaging....
just kidding!
xoxo Kim
This is really neat... - I´m a bit of a packing donkey (ha, learned that expression from you...) I´m afraid - but you´re absolutely right with what you say about presenting ones work... - lately internat. postage from Germany has been reduced (some things DO get cheaper, believe it or not...), so I may not have to squeeze small sized things into envelopes any more the way I did to keep postage moderate...
beautiful, elegant and tasteful :)
This is a work of art in and of itself ... suitable for framing. Thanks for sharing this with us. I agree, your (meaning "you" personally) presentation makes the purchase all the more special! I've had the experience of opening up your packages!
What a great package to receive!
Taking the extra time to present beautifully shows pride of workmanship, as well as appreciation for the customer. It makes the whole purchasing process a little special, as well as makes a wonderful impression on the buyer. I know when I receive something that is presented nicely, that the article enclosed will be created with skill and attention to detail.
It´s perfect. Everyone would love to receive such a wonderful package.
Your presentation is so wonderful. The finishing touches so perfect. I am sure that anyone who receives something from you will be as delighted as I was with the goodies. You are a treasure and a real love x

If I were to buy your packaging, how would that be packaged? Your presentation is scrumptous.
My UPS boxes are a disgrace...you have once again inspired me to reach further and try harder. (I am picturing the FedEx package from Castaway) Thank you!
Perfectly beautiful, Lisa. Everything you do is with great style! Yes, it does make a difference! Have a wonderful weekend! xo Diane
You make a great point about presentation reflecting the artist. And in both cases here, they are wonderful!
Good morning I "found" your blog via Seth's post today and I am loving what I see here. I love this package, and you are so right presentation does count!
So beautiful! Everything you make is gorgeous! :)
So elegant.
I think the fact that you care so much about the packaging shows how much you care about the whole art creation-- and is very Japanese too.
This is great! I love opening your packages, always a feast for the eyes.

Hi Lisa! Nice to hear from you - love your little dog and textile samples in your most recent post. Had to comment that I think your packaging is among the best I've received (along with what's inside!) and I just read that Somerset Studio is having a mail art call for submissions - you should enter!!! Marsha talked about it in a recent blog - http://tumblefishstudio.blogspot.com
Take care!
