finally...

Recently a fellow blogger asked me if I found it harder to post
on my blog the longer I waited. Well, given that my last post was written over 10 months ago...I must agree it's true. Procrastination? Deadlines?
Oh yes...no wonder I still have that reoccurring dream
about the class I completely forgot until
the final exam...
I'm bet I'm not alone here...

Anyway, I have returned with some exciting news to share with you. Author Seth Apter recently published his first book The Pulse of Mixed Media and I am honored to have one of my pieces included!

The book is an exciting and intricate survey of artists
with many questions answered through words and art. My piece "passage" addresses the prompt "what is your biggest fear?"

the number 21...a rite of passage...
though tempered as noted on Roman sundials

because life is open ended but finite...
jagged signs and symbols present themselves along the path,
but we never truly know what they foretell
or when the journey ends

the fear of stillness and silence,
life deconstructed marching into the ages...

I must admit, my favorite part is where Seth dedicates the book to his mother, who passed away before the dream became a reality...

It was she who gave me my sense of purpose and the desire and motivation to follow through with what I believe in, no matter how rough the road might become. I miss her deeply and hope that somehow, somewhere she knows that her dream for me of writing a book has now come true.

Much like Seth...it just fills your heart doesn't it?

If you'd like to share in the excitement with an opportunity to win a copy of the book, please leave a comment below. I'll draw the name of one lucky winner on Mother's Day.

The Pulse of Mixed Media is also available for purchase at Amazon.
